Our CHAPS course is aimed to bridge the skill gap between senior care home staff and nurses.

CHAPS is a comprehensive training program that aims to upskill healthcare professionals working in the care home sector.

The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical training to provide the essential skills and competencies required to deliver high-quality care to residents who have varying complex healthcare needs.

This is a 7 day course that will prepare you for a wide variety of scenarios you may encounter in a care setting when dealing with service users’ medical requirements. 

Day 1 – Catheter Care, Stoma Care and Pressure Ulcer

Day 2 – Medication, T34 McKinley, Venepuncture

Day 3 – NEWS and Record Keeping

Day 4 – Dysphagia, Eternal Nutrition, oral suction

Day 5 – Blood Sugar Monitoring, administration of insulin

Day 6 – First Aid (this is optional )

Day 7 – Exam

  • Administering and managing medication

  • Using a T34 syringe driver
