About This Course:
The Level 2 SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF level 6 is a qualification developed by the SSSC and other regulatory bodies in the health and social care sector.
This is a flexible course often done over a longer period of time and as such allows the amount of time a candidate is away from their workplace to be kept to a minimum. Achieving an SVQ is not like a formal written exam. Achieving an SVQ requires the candidate to submit a variety of evidence to show that they are competent within their role.
When enrolled, the candidate will be allocated to one of our highly experienced assessors who will work with them one-to-one. The assessor will help the candidate build up a portfolio of work which they can use to help achieve their qualification.
Once the candidate has completed the qualification, they can then progress to other relevant SVQ’s up to and including level 4.
Candidates can complete their SVQ remotely online via video calls with our assessors and through our bespoke online learning platform which allows candidates to easily upload and edit their work and evidence.
Achieving an SVQ requires the Candidate to show that they are ‘competent’ within their role.
Candidates must complete 4 Mandatory and 2 Optional units. Units are completed, through a combination of Observation (from the Assessor/Expert Witness), Written Work (Candidates’ Reflective Accounts, Questions and Activities), along with Professional Discussion, which are all linked to the Candidate’s job role.
These are carried out within your work setting and during normal working hours.
Candidate Written Work:
The expectation is that this will be completed within your own time.
Once you have submitted your work, your Assessor will assess and return with developmental and meaningful feedback, designed to help ensure content presented and placed within your portfolio meets ‘Assessment Criteria and National Occupational Standards’.
